JERICO joins the ESFRI Roadmap 2026: a major milestone for European coastal observation

The JERICO community is proud to announce that JERICO (Joint European Research Infrastructure for Coastal Observatories) has officially been included in the ESFRI Roadmap 2026, marking a major milestone in its journey towards becoming Europe's Research Infrastructure for coastal observations. This achievement is the result of more than fifteen years of collective effort by a dedicated European community committed to advancing integrated coastal observing. O que é a infraestrutura de investigação JERICO?

O JERICO-RI é uma Infraestrutura de Investigação (II) pan-Europeia integrada, com carácter multidisciplinar e multiplataforma, dedicada a uma avaliação holística das mudanças do sistema marinho costeiro. O JERICO-RI articula-se com as Infraestruturas de Investigação existentes para os domínios continental, atmosférico e oceano aberto, preenchendo assim uma lacuna importante no panorama ESFRI. O JERICO-RI implementa o enquadramento em que os sistemas marinhos costeiros são observados, analisados, compreendidos e previstos. O JERICO-RI permite o acesso aberto a instalações, recursos, dados FAIR e serviços adaptados, inovadores e de última geração, promovendo a colaboração científica internacional.
